With a pale gold colour and aromas of quince, almond, and pineapple, ‘Clos de Rougemont’ showcases the suppleness of its limestone terroir, with a touch of residual sugar [10 to 12 g l] and a pronounced floral character. It pairs perfectly with white meats, fish in sauce, Asian cuisine, and cheeses. The varied terroirs of the Loire slopes place the Chenin grapes here on clay-limestone soils [les aubuis], and this cuvée is produced from vines that are around forty years old.
